Tipping Food Delivery in Costa Rica

How much to tip your delivery driver in Manuel Antonio — colones, USD, optional checkout tip, and what locals expect.

Tipping for food delivery in Costa Rica is appreciated but not mandatory. Many tourists round up the total or hand the driver ₡500–₡2,000 in colones after a longer route to a hillside villa.

Fiesta Express shows prices in Costa Rican colones at checkout. If you pay cash on delivery, you can prepare small bills for a tip. Card on delivery and Bitcoin checkout include an optional tip field — it goes to the driver with your order.

Rain, steep roads and gated resorts take extra time; a small tip is a simple thank-you when service was smooth. There is no fixed percentage like in the US — locals often tip when they are happy, not by default.
